Zephyrhills, FL (Law Firm Newswire) November 25, 2011 – The Pasco Regional Medical Center in Dade City recently opened Phase I of its expanded and remodeled emergency room. The new ER brings top-quality emergency care closer to the people of Pasco County.

The ER remodel adds 8,400 square feet, including an imaging suite, new exam rooms, a triage area and a patient/guest lounge, according to the PRMC.

“These improvements are good news for Pasco County,” said Zephyrhills personal injury lawyer Robert Alston. “This community deserves a quality, local ER and accident victims with serious injuries will benefit from the quality service.”

The PRMC is also enhancing emergency care through its website and mobile phone applications where patients can see what kind of wait times to expect before even going to the ER. Patients can get approximate wait times texted to their phones by texting their zip code to ERTIME (378463). The ER Extra wait time app is available on iPhone.

PRMC is a 120-bed acute care hospital. In Phase II of the remodeling and construction, the former ER will be renovated with consultation suites, a nurses’ station and a staff lounge.

For Pasco County residents who have had a serious injury or bad auto accident, Alston recommends getting prompt medical care and legal advice. He also suggests consulting an attorney before making any recorded statements or signing any documents.

“It’s imperative to seek medical care immediately after an accident,” Alston said. “Short wait times and a revamped local ER should make that decision easier for accident victims.”
