Possible Drunk Driver Seriously Injures Victims in Hit-and-Run Wreck Reports Brattleboro Injury Lawyer
Brattleboro, NH (Law Firm Newswire) December 12, 2011 – Drinking and driving will never be acceptable. This reported case has a strange twist.
“I’ve been practicing personal injury year for many years, and it never ceases to amaze me when I hear about cases like this one,” remarked Charlie Donahue, a Brattleboro injury lawyer with offices in Keene, New Hampshire. “In this case, an eyewitness watched as a man driving a silver car slammed into an SUV.
The driver of the SUV got out and started walking towards the car, intent on getting the usual information to deal with the insurance companies, and the car took off. The eyewitness followed him until she had to stop for a red light. She stopped, but the male driving the car with the smashed in front end did not.
Just as the light changed, the eyewitness once again spotted the silver car, weaving along in front of her, just a couple of vehicles ahead of her. At that point, two police cars did a speedy U-turn and pursued the silver car. “As the eyewitness continued to follow the car and the two cops, she came around a corner and saw smoke clogging up the air. The man had crashed once again, but this time did not drive away, because he couldn’t. He’d hit another vehicle head-on and flipped his car,” Donahue explained.
It took police over six hours to investigate both scenes and they would be spending even more time determining if the man was driving while under the influence. There are several other scenarios that could have caused the man in the silver car to act as he did, but only time will tell. He may have been driving while distracted or under the influence of a drug of some kind. Nonetheless, there are two victims who are seriously injured as a result of his negligence, who would be in a good position to file a personal injury lawsuit.
“Have you been in an accident like this?” asked Donahue. “If so, discuss the issues with an experienced Brattleboro injury attorney; one with a heart of gold and knuckles of brass and a wealth of experience to back up his clients.” Cases like this involving an eyewitness are often good for the plaintiff(s), as they have corroborating evidence on their side. If the police reports also indicate the at-fault party was drunk or otherwise out of it, this too will be something that may be used in court to help get the plaintiffs a fair and equitable settlement.
“Just remember, do not deal with insurance companies without talking to me. I know how to handle them and get them off your back,” Donahue added. To learn more about New Hampshire personal injury lawyer Charlie Donahue, visit http://www.donahuelawfirm.com.

- Just because it says so, does not mean it is
Sometimes insurance policies exclude certain coverage. When a claim is made by an injury victim, the insurance company points to policy language that says no coverage for that, so sorry. Don’t just think that’s the end. Insurance policies can not violate the law, and if a provision does, the courts will not enforce the policy. [...]
