The Dickson Law Group Announces $1,000 Thomas L. Dickson Scholarship Available to Current and Incoming College Students

Tacoma, WA (Law Firm Newswire) January 1, 2015 – In an effort to help young people meet the ever-growing cost of obtaining an college education, the Dickson Law Group has created the Thomas L. Dickson $1000 College Scholarship.

The scholarship is available to students who are currently enrolled in an institution of higher education or who have plans to attend a university or college next fall. The firm plans to offer the scholarship on an annual basis to the student who submits the highest quality video essay pertaining to the topic at hand.

The video essay requires students to imagine that they are starting their own small business and to decide whether they would form a partnership, limited liability company, or corporation. Students must provide support for their answers based on research they conducted regarding the pros and cons of each business entity, the type of business they wish to start, and any other relevant factors.

The firm will award the Thomas L. Dickson $1000 College Scholarship to the student with the highest quality video and who demonstrated a clear understanding of the question. Other factors considered will be the originality of the submission and the demonstrated interest and potential to succeed in the field of law.

Other important and practical requirements that students should consider include the following:

• The video essay must be submitted no later than May 15, 2015, preferably via YouTube or Vimeo, to cdreyer@dicksonlegal.com

• The student must have the permission of a parent or legal guardian if he or she is under the age of 18

• The student must be currently attending or planning to attend an accredited college or university by fall of 2015

• The student must be in good academic standing at his or her current institution
