MELBOURNE, FL (Law Firm Newswire) June 16, 2014 – InterActive Legal is pleased to announce that Letha Sgritta McDowell, CELA, has accepted its position of Special Advisor on Elder Law Planning. Ms. McDowell joins Stephen J. Silverberg, CELA, and former Chairman of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), who also serves in this position. Both have been substantial contributors to the upcoming release of InterActive Legal’s new comprehensive Elder Law Practice system.

Ms. McDowell currently practices elder law in the Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina area, counseling the elderly and those who care for them on the complicated web of state and federal laws governing the programs which virtually every American with a disability, or over 65 years of age, faces. These include Medicare, Social Security, often VA Benefits and Medicaid, Elder Abuse (financial and physical), and management of assets and personal care decisions in the face of debilitating and chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias, Parkinson’s, reduced mobility, and countless other ailments that often arise.

Ms. McDowell recently joined the law firm of Walker Lambe Rhudy Costley & Gill, PLLC to work primarily in the Garner/Johnston County office. She is licensed by the Virginia and North Carolina State Bars, certified as an Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation, and is Board Certified as a specialist in Elder Law by the North Carolina State Bar.

“Letha’s commitment to the constant improvement of the practice compliments InterActive Legal’s focus, providing unparalleled knowledge, practice, and document drafting systems for elder law, long-term care planning, and asset protection. This is particularly pleasing as we prepare to launch our completely updated Elder Law Planning practice system,” shared Michael L. Graham, Esq., CEO of InterActive Legal.
