REBOOT Workshops Coming to Michigan This Fall

Northville, MI (Law Firm Newswire) October 21, 2014 – The REBOOT Workshops, developed by National Veteran’s Transition Services, Inc. (NVTSI), have become very popular among returning veterans. This fall, the Michigan’s Veteran’s Affairs Agency is bringing these workshops to the state.

REBOOT workshops are designed to aid veterans returning home in transitioning from their role as soldiers to their roles as civilians through personalized training and coaching in the social, personal and professional aspects of civilian life.

“The REBOOT Workshops offer the kind of comprehensive transition guidance that our returning veterans deserve,” said Jim Fausone, a veterans disability attorney. “The three weeks of workshops can help achieve a level of readiness for civilian life that otherwise take years of self-teaching, trial and error.”

The three-week, three-step process is designed to help veterans not simply find a job, but to empower them to imagine and achieve meaningful goals. The first week focuses on cultivating personal well-being. The second week moves on to considering positive living situations and developing a sense of purpose. In the third week, a work-readiness workshop provides practical assistance in resume-writing, interviewing and more.

In Michigan, three workshops are upcoming: October 20 to November 2 in Detroit, March 16 to April 3, 2015 in Southeast Michigan (women only), and April 27 to May 15 in Lansing. The workshop is free, but participants must pay for food and transportation.

The name REBOOT comes from the idea that returning veterans need a reverse boot camp that will help them feel confident and prepared for life at home.
