Los Angeles, CA (Law Firm Newswire) September 29, 2016 – Brenda Radmacher, Partner at Wood Smith Henning & Berman LLP, will be speaking at the 2016 CLM National Construction Claims Conference to be held at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego, California, September 28-30th.

Radmacher, CLM’s 2016 Outside Counsel of the Year, will be presenting on the hot issue “Exploitation of Settlement Agreement and Release Exceptions.” The presentation will take place Thursday, September 29 at 1:00 PM. Joining Radmacher on the panel are national thought leaders on this issue: Caryn Siebert with Knight Insurance Group, and Steve Lokus from Navigators Insurance Company. Lawyer Jannea Rogers and mediator Stacy LaScala will round out the panel.

“After you work so hard to reach a negotiated resolution of a dispute, it is critical to ensure that you don’t lose the deal by failing to draft a settlement agreement which is complete and which will ensure the settlement is enforceable. The worst outcome is having further litigation arise from a settlement agreement that goes sideways,” said Radmacher. “This panel will provide attorneys, general counsel, claim professionals and risk managers with practical tips and tools they can immediately implement to make sure a hard-fought-for settlement is kept intact and that they do not face another round of litigation on issues that should have been resolved the first time.”

Radmacher specializes in representing contractors, builders, landowners, lenders, and real estate developers in all aspects of litigation and risk management. Radmacher is one of the few California attorneys who has expertise in Proposition 65 (California’s Safe Drinking Water/Warning Act). She has litigated cases to verdict in trial and arbitration, settled claims to the satisfaction of her clients, and consults with her clients on various risk management issues. Radmacher is also a certified mediator and a featured speaker on negotiation and dispute resolution, the President of the WCOE-California Chapter, Board Member of the CLM Diversity in Construction Committee, Board Member of the West Coast Lumber & Building Material Association and rated an AV Preeminent attorney by Martindale-Hubbell.
