Tampa, FL (Law Firm Newswire) August 2, 2019 – A Clay County, Florida area woman was killed when her car left the road and crashed violently after she fell asleep behind the wheel.

The 30-year-old mother of five children was driving home from work around 8 a.m. when the accident occurred. Her husband said that she had worked two back to back overnight shifts as a registered nurse in the cardiac unit of Saint Vincent’s South hospital, in Jacksonville.

“It is an absolute tragedy that this woman will not be coming home to her family. Driving while tired is a very dangerous problem and one that is often overlooked,” said experienced car accident lawyer Robert Joyce, of Joyce and Reyes. “Drowsy driving is as dangerous as drunk driving.”

The victim’s husband says that his wife was nearly home when she lost control of her vehicle. The couple has five daughters who range in age from 11 months to 10 years.
