Tampa, FL (Law Firm Newswire) October 14, 2019 – The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) launched a free mobile application (app) for veterans and their caregivers that organizes several tools and resources to help veterans take charge of their health care.

The VA has developed several apps to extend services beyond the walls of VA medical facilities and to help veterans and their caregivers manage their health care. The VA Online Scheduling app lets veterans request and track appointments. The VA Video Connect app secures video visits with the VA care team. The PTSD Coach app gives veterans information and tools to manage post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Learn about all apps designed to help veterans and their caregivers.

VA Launchpad for Veterans organizes these apps into one location, so veterans and caregivers can access them with a single login. Veterans can view and share VA electronic health records, book VA appointments, refill a prescription, communicate with VA health care providers and more.

VA Launchpad for Veterans arranges all VA apps into five categories:

* Health management: Allows veterans to take a role in their health care by, for example, making appointments and sharing medical records.
* Communicate with health care team: Allows veterans to take part in face-to-face appointments, receive text messages about their health care.
* Sharing health care information: Allows veterans to track and share vital health information.
* Mental health: Helps veterans deal with specific mental health conditions, like PTSD.
* Quality of life: Assists veterans in improving the quality of their lives by, for example, losing weight or stopping smoking.

New apps will appear on VA Launchpad for Veterans app as they become available.

Veterans and their health care providers can access the VA Launchpad for Veterans app on their phones and tablets. Download the app from Google Play or the Apple App Store. To access the apps within VA Launchpad for Veterans, a user must be a VA patient and have a Premium My HealtheVet, DS Logon Level 2 (Premium) or ID.me account.

VA Launchpad for Veterans app includes mental health care and personal improvement tools for individuals who are not enrolled in VA health care services. No secure login is required to use these free tools.
