Lipcon Firm Recovers $5.6 Million for Motorcyclist Killed in Collision with Car

Miami, FL – Attorney: David W. Lipcon of Lipcon & Lipcon, P.A. Facts: John (name withheld to protect the family), a landscape architect, was on his motorcycle, intending to go home to have dinner with his wife and new baby.
He had been stopped at a red light for approximately 30 seconds when a commercial truck, who’s driver later admitted to being distracted by using a navigation application on his phone, crashed into him from behind. John was violently thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene. The entire crash was captured by a surveillance camera from a nearby gas station.
After the initial settlement discussion collapsed, a suit was filed against the commercial trucking company. After a year of litigation and court hearings, the case was settled at mediation for $5.6 Million.
Result: Case settled during mediation.
