To Quote or Not to Quote in Law Firm News Releases

A press release or news release is supposed to be on a topic of interest related to your law firm. However, some firms find it challenging to strike a balance between information from the anonymous third party writer and quotes from personnel and attorneys within the firm.

There really is not a golden rule to follow. If the attorney is commented on a large public case, then their comments will be the topic of the news release, therefore requiring more quotes from the attorneys. The Lawyer Press Release Writing List

Here are a few items to help you with your news release.

1) The Title – It all starts here. Make sure your title is declaring something and that you use a keyword. For example, “Boston Personal Injury Lawyer Wins Case”.

2) Summary – The summary should reaffirm what the title is declaring with a little extra detail. But don’t give away the story; you want the reader to view the whole piece.

3) Body – You now have 300 to 1,000 words to make your point, tell your story, and excite the reader into calling your firm or at least into visiting your (more…)

To make your law firm’s press release drive new cases to your law firm, two things have to happen.
