How Newspapers in Other Cities May Help Your Ranking

When lawyers review Law Firm Newswire’s extensive network, they often ask us how publications in other cities and states are going to help their firm. While a law firm in Massachusetts will see the benefit of having their press release in the Boston Globe on Boston.com, they may wonder why they should be excited about also getting their news published in the San Francisco Chronicle site Sfgate.com, or papers in New York, Dallas, Chicago, and other major metro areas.

Keyword Research Goes A Long Way in the News

Before writing a press release or specifically, a news title, a trip to Adwords’ keyword selector may help the performance of your news and increase distribution.

Go to https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

Now, start plugging in some words that are related to your news release and practice area. If an immigration lawyer is going to be speaking to employers at a convention, they should type in “work visas” or other related terms. In this case, they will see that nationwide, Google gets over 200,000 searches for “work visas”.

Instead of writing a title like this:

Using online news outlets gives your law firm an opportunity to more personally engage your prospective clients. Writing your press releases like news articles will have a greater effect than the predictable rhythmic pattern of a press release.

Here is an example:
