Generally, we like to talk about the exposure that news releases can offer a law firm. The traffic that they send to a law firm’s website is appealing. And so is the vast network of news outlets that make up the Law Firm Newswire distribution list.

But this week, we are going to talk about another aspect of news releases that is oftentimes overlooked. Credibility.

When someone goes to your law firm’s website, they are introduced to your name and firm’s brand. While they may fill out a contact form or give you a call, they are probably going to do a little extra homework to make sure you are the right fit for their situation.

When they Google your name or your law firm’s name, what are they going to see? A couple of local listings on InsiderPages or perhaps an Avvo profile? These are to be expected.

If your state’s regulations allow it, publish a press release every time you win a case. When a prospective client sees a series of news articles coming up in Google on high-end news sites, it builds credibility for your firm – especially if these releases highlight cases your firm has won.
